These are extremely durable traditional ’game bags’ equally at home as a light day pack on winter expeditions and fall hunts, or in the city as a bike bag or messenger bag for soft goods.  We use ours all year round.  Traditionally these bags would be strapped atop a toboggan load and carried anytime forays were made away from the toboggans.  This workshop introduces a huge variety of leather-crafting skills you can use at home.  Constructed of soft-tanned moose or deer buckskin, with a stiff, vegetable-tanned leather strap, and held closed with a wood or antler button, (or buckles if you prefer) these bags are made to be used and made to last.  At the end of this 2-day workshop you should walk out with a completed bag, as well as the skills necessary to tackle a huge variety of leather-craft projects including knife/ axe/ saw sheaths, belts, bags, wallets, etc. Skills: Dying and stamping veg-tanned leather; Lacing leather; Sewing buckskin; Installing copper rivets; Installing buckles; Making and installing wood or antler buttons.
